Virtually all of our cases involve aspects of
mediation and arbitration. Under the guidance of the mediator,
the parties negotiate a settlement. In arbitration, the parties
ask the arbitrator to decide the issues in dispute. Our blend
of accounting and valuation expertise coupled with our reputation
enable us to mediate or arbitrate financial issues. In fact,
over the past 15 years, we have resolved hundreds of matters
through arbitration and mediation. Our role as mediators or
arbitrators can arise in different ways. For instance, we
can be appointed by the court to provide an expert opinion
on financial issues. Then, after reaching our conclusions,
the court or parties may ask us to mediate or arbitrate the
disputed issues. The court may also appoint us to mediate
the differences between the opinions of the parties’
experts. We also participate in New Jersey’s Alternative
Dispute Resolution Program, in which five of our accountants
